I hope you watched the documentary about me - The Ride to Redemption - repeated on Saturday 2nd January. The BBC said that the viewing figures for the 2 showings - at 4.2 million - were by far the highest for the 'Inside Sport' slot.

Now the Guardian are interested in the ideas from my PR/Marketing representatives, Fizz, to raise the profile of the sport and improve the earnings of jockeys relative to the level of commitment and danger to which they expose themselves.

Lightly raced 3-year-old Gitano Hernando shows up from England and defeats Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and top older horses in the Grade I, $350,000 Goodwood Stakes at Santa Anita.

My racing comeback has proven to all who doubted, that I am capable of achieving my ambition to become champion jockey, for a seventh time, next year.

I know that many people have a distorted opinion of me because of past newspaper stories which, as I am naturally diffident, I have been reluctant to redress. Every story has two sides however - and on 14th December 2009, on the BBC, I get the chance to tell you my side, with my long-standing friend Clare Balding.

Kieren has been the Uk’s Champion Jockey in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. With a career spanning 25 years including riding 4 double centuries out of six and an average win rate of 1.66 classic winners per year during that period, which is truly a remarkable feat. Totalling 15 Classic race wins from 1997 – 2006 this racing legend is on form and prepared for what is billed as the one of the best races of modern times Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe riding Youmzain on Sunday 4th Oct.

With a quiet confidence and steely determination Kieren has returned to racing and proved his worth time and time again with skill and precision on the track. Over a short period from September 4th 2009, since his return, Kieren has quickly got back to the clock and pleased and delighted fans, trainers and owners alike.
